Shannon’s Favorite Holiday Memory
My favorite holiday memories are preparing for Christmas with my son when he became old enough to experience the joys of crafting gifts from the heart for the family. From his very first year, unbeknownst to him at the time, an ornament was made for everyone in the family most often using his hand. The first ornament was made with left over small floor tiles we had. I made a handprint on them and gave them as trivets. Another year we made reindeer and the year after that Santa’s then a Snowflake picture frame ornament. You’ll notice by the dates on the ornaments there was a good span at one time, it was fun to watch his hands grow!
I also loved sharing my childhood favorite Christmas movies with my son and bought the Original Christmas Classics set! Yes they are usually all on tv but this way you can watch them whenever you want! Like me, his favorites were Frosty and Rudolph! But his most favorite was not one I had ever seen, as it was released in 2001, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.
There is nothing like Christmas morning and experiencing it through your child’s eyes. The wonder and excitement. Moments I will cherish forever! Even now that he is 17, I still look forward to the magic of Christmas morning.
No matter what holiday you celebrate, I wish you and your family a season filled with warm moments and cherished memories.
Warm wishes, Shannon
